(John Lyman’s Webcam — refresh your screen to update the webcam picture) **It’s stuff like this that gets people addicted to the internet!!!**   We are bombarded with information, from TV, radio, cell phones and Internet. We are “in touch” and accessible 24/7. We are, possibly, unable to easily exist without these conveniences. Or, are we?
From Saturday night, March 20 until May 1st, I will refrain from Googling, blogging, surfing, texting (except when needed on cell phone for the purpose of answering an important text) — only accessing the Internet if necessary for work purposes, which are minimal and infrequent.
This means, I will turn to television or radio for news, or may possibly — buy a newspaper! Just like they did back in Abe Lincoln’s days.
That will be more than a month without the convenience of Internet access. How did we ever survive without the Internet and can we do without it today, without going through “withdrawal”?
The weather is better, these days. I may even get outdoors and — mow the lawn? Maybe not that.
I will not have access to online bill-pay, access to bank account info, online shopping, the Drudge Report, Google News, Itunes, or any other business, entertainment or news source — on the Internet.
I will be on the honor system, but will report if I “fall off the wagon”.
Somebody keep an eye on this webcam for me while I am away. I’ll check back on this in May.
Good-bye!

**Let’s hope EVERYONE in the Lyman household wears pants…24/7
