Frozen Treats Galore… Head To These Stores
Popsicles are not normally world shaking news, but when it gets up into the upper 90’s on the thermometer in Tacoma, Washington it is a matter of life and death. Well, for me it is…
Fred Meyer has a special on bags of popsicles for $.88 each. Walgreens has those ice pop thingy’s that you have to freeze before you eat them, but they’re pretty cheap. A box of 24 for $2.00. There’s a couple of recession busting cool treats for you. If you’re looking for a good old fashioned ice cream headache, just go to 7-11 and get a Slurpee. But don’t go to the one on the corner of Cirque Drive and Bridgeport Way in University Place. The Slurpee station there is VERY messy; spills all over the place. The dude at the front counter needs to learn how to use paper towels.
But I’m really.. I mean really, ticked off at the lack of root beer popsicles available in the stores these days. I haven’t checked out Albertson’s or Safeway, because I get irritated in those stores and end up having a stroke. But it just seems like no one sells many root beer popsicles anymore! Everything is just “gourmet” ice cream and mango/banana/avacado popsicles.
Why can’t we just have the good old stuff? My guess is I’d have to go to Canada to find a bag of root beer popsicles.

I am in search of the perfect ice cream treat. I think I have found it. Private Selection Moose Tracks, from Fred Meyer. Vanilla Ice Cream with chocate and creamy peanut butter. 40 seconds in the microwave, when frozen, and it is soft, easy to scoop out and put in a cone or small cup.
Warning: In this triple digit, humid, hot, summertime heat, this could be habit forming.
