A new law takes effect today, which allows mothers to breast-feed in public. People-watching at the Mall just became more interesting. Businesses cannot now ask these women to leave or to cover up while breast-feeding. If a business does ask, a complaint can be brought against them through the state attorney general’s office.

Rep. Tami Green, the Tacoma Democrat who sponsored the bill, said the new law will help “jump-start the culture of change.” Not so sure I like the sound of that. A culture of change can mean alot of things, not all of it good. But what the heck, Kumbaya!
