Everyone Lies
As I get older, I start to notice things about life that I had missed in my earlier days. I start to see things for what they really are instead of what we are supposed to believe things are. The only difference between me and the majority of the people I know is, I speak my mind! I can’t stand that people LIE! Everyone does it. From pastors to doctors, your spouse and your parents. In different degrees everyone lies. The people closest to you think they are lying to spare your feelings, but little do they know, that if you know them, you know they are lying. Nothing infuriates me more than being lied to.
A doctor will lie to you about a needle not hurting, a salesperson will lie so they can make the deal. Your parents will lie so you are not upset about your dog dying, they will say it went to a farm in heaven-just so you know, there’s no such place. Your spouse will tell you a horrible dye job looks great or that they couldn’t even tell that you had a half of a head of gray hair. To all the liars out there I say, “Don’t patronize me!” I know you’re lying!
People at work will act like they like you and then talk behind your back, that’s the same as lying. Your friends will lie to you and say that the dress you are wearing looks great! This is so that when they go out with you, the fact that the dress makes you look fat will ultimately net them more looks from the guys. Other than your parents, the people in your life both personal and professional lie to you to fulfill their own needs and greeds.
Your subordinate will lie so they can get a raise, your boyfriend will lie about cheating on you so you don’t break up with him and leave him alone, some people will even lie to you just so you think they are cool or superior to you. These people will make up stories of places they’ve been or things they’ve done so they can fit into your conversation or group.
I wish everyone had to wear their feelings on their sleeve-literally, if you are lying your arm turns red and if you are telling the truth your arm turns green while you speak. This would save me a lot of time pondering over what people say and analyzing constantly because things don’t “seem” right. Truth be told, I’d probably find out more than I want to know and actually realize that you can truly trust no one and then I’d have to face that and go live in a field somewhere by myself. Until then I will live in the lie with the rest of you. This is why I live by the saying, “I Hate People.” At least our dogs don’t lie to us.
