Be Nice To People Day
I am officially naming June 17th “Be Nice To People Day”. I don’t mean the people you see everyday like in your office or your own home. Let’s take it a little further, let’s say, the lady at the grocery store. Instead of just smiling ask her how her day is going? Take a minute out of your busy day to get interested in someone else’s life or woes. Now I don’t mean give handouts or stop your life to tend to someone else’s just extend some courtesy. Wave to a stranger, pay for the person behind you in the coffee line, or the toll bridge, kind of a pay it forward type thing. See how many strangers you can be nice to in one day. It will feel silly at first but trust me, you’ll feel good about it at the end of the day. You never know, you may just make someone’s day too. If everyone around the world did this for one day wouldn’t the world be a happier place? Even if for just one day. So tomorrow, June 17th do something nice for someone. This goes against my better judgment. Believing that there is a common goodness in everyone is not something I can usually get behind. But, in the interest of promoting a better world in which to live, and hoping against hope that this might produce something good, I throw my support behind this holiday.
I only hope this doesn’t lead to another day of bank closures and no garbage pick up. That would really piss me off.

I can do this as long as I don’t have to be nice to the alcoholic, bi-polar, dishonest, back stabbing lady I have to share an office with (no I’m not making this up). But I can go for the rest of it. Good idea, Stephanie Blogmeister! And be nice to kids, especially. And pets. And the mail carrier. Kindness is usually recip.. Recipro… You know, what you do comes back to you. Word up!

I have been extra nice to people today… I even told a lady at Fred Meyer she was doing a great job and I’ve solved some angry people’s problems… I get a star!

You do get a star John! I was nice to people too, but it seemed that not everyone knew it was “Be Nice To People Day.” Not everyone was as nice to me as I tried to be to them, oh well I guess not EVERYBODY reads “The Deal Is” like I thought! LOL!
