We are moving from the horrible apartments to a house in the area.  We did a mini walk through the house today and noticed that there were no window coverings.  We discussed this with the landlords and decided we would just go in halves on the cost of new blinds.  We went shopping to find the blinds.  We went to Home Depot and Lowes’s.  Apparently, our window is 94″ wide.  That is not a typical width for mini blinds, or any other sort that we could find. 

We looked at some curtains and found that they were about $24.00 a panel and for this window we would need 3 panels.  We also had 3 other bedrooms to cover the windows of, we decided that we could just make our own curtains for a less expensive rate. 

We went to Michael’s craft store to find they did not carry any fabric.  The next day we strolled over to Jo-Ann’s Fabric, they had everything we needed there.  We spent about $200.00 on everything but we now have the stuff to make our own curtains, the way we want.  I would suggest doing it yourself whenever possible with any type of project.  It just makes you feel good.
