This teddy bear has a tag dated 1975. It was the first stuffed animal in our daughter’s crib (born 1976). She has kept it these many years. Checking eBay, the same Fisher-Price Teddy Bear sells for $50. We paid less than that, but if you had one of these as a child and would like to get your hands on another, you can do so, for a tidy ransom on eBay.

Something like this Teddy Bear holds sentimental value, for the child, now adult, and parents. I had one of “my” baby blankets up until I was in my teens. I am not certain what became of it. It would have been made in 1954, and I doubt that any exist these days. But someone else’s baby blanket is nothing I would want.

There are websites built around childhood toys and collections of such, but eBay is where you will find most of the good stuff. There are many collectors out there. These people have held on to their old toys, books and baseball cards. They may be willing to part with it for a price.

My daughter’s Teddy Bear still squeaks, the tag is readable and it is not very worn. It has held up over the years. I doubt that she would be trading it on eBay at any time in the future. Sentimental value sometimes outweighs market value, and a piece of your childhood is irreplaceable.
