I am currently 25 pounds over ideal weight for my body type and height.  The holidays are over and I am going to get rid of this extra “baggage.”  I have tried Weight Watchers before and it worked but there is a lot of “tracking” involved.  Weight loss is a lifestyle change it is said.  If there is any truth to that then I would have to agree to commit to a lifestyle change that I can live with.

I can not commit to keeping a log of what I eat.  I can barely keep a log of transactions in my checkbook.  I cannot commit to weighing my food out.  I can however, commit to an exercise regimin and smaller portions.  I vow to eat whatever I want whenever I want it in moderation.  To combat this not-so-wise and completely selfish eating plan I will commit to exercise.

I will start this program today December 29th.  Today I will be going to the gym.  I plan to start slowly at first so I won’t burn out as I have tried this before and burned out quickly.  I will have to commit to go to the gym whether or not I have a work out partner able to attend that day.  I will organize my childcare to accomodate this goal.  I think I will commit to going to the gym 3 days a week for the first week.  I will commit to work out 20 minutes minimum those days that will just be cardio.  After week one I will document progress with pictures and measurements.  Then I will check back in weekly until the goal is reached.

My sister has a wedding in July and I do not want to have to “squeeze” into a dress and feel self consciencious.  I also would like to spend a summer wearing whatever I want and feel good about how I look in it.  I have struggled with the way I look with my weight since I had kids 10 years ago and I am generally lazy so I never really stick to any weight loss plan.  Hopefully this time will be different.  I will keep you posted.

I will not be taking any stimulants during this time other than my daily Starbucks coffee in the morning and the occasional Rock Star energy drink, as I said I am not commited to changing what I eat at this time.  Stay tuned for future results.  If you would like to lose weight in the new year why not become a contributor to this blog and we can follow along with each other’s progress, it’s great to have other’s motivations during time of weight loss, it really does help.
