Duke Stern picks the Top 10 Funniest Movies
10. Anchorman – Will Ferrell AND Steve Carell, a dynamic duo.
9. Animal House – John Belushi’s best!
8. A Christmas Story – Once a year, a must see. The tongue stuck to the frozen pole, I know of a case in which this actually happened. No, it was not me.
7. What About Bob? – Hilarious. Your crazy if you don’t agree.
6. Wayne’s World – We are not worthy of such uproarious yuks, guffaws and chortles.
5. Happy Gilmore – The scene with where Gilmore battles Bob Barker on the golf course. Rewind it. Worth seeing again!
4. The Jerk – All I need is this movie and popcorn. And, milk duds. This movie, popcorn, and milk duds. And, a cola. This movie, popcorn…
3. Liar, Liar – Jim Carrey’s funniest, but not his best. That would be, The Truman Show.
2. Office Space – Could have been #1. A great ensemble cast, memorable lines. (“I believe you have my stapler”)
1. The Naked Gun – Leslie Nielsen, who used to play the heavy in 50s dramas, tops Steve Martin for funniest old, white haired guy in a comedy.
These would be my top choices for a marathon weekend of hilarity. Great writing, funny actors and plenty of laughs.
