No blog would be complete without a place for talk about FOOD. Whether it be restauarant reviews, sharing recipes or talking about special diets, FOOD is on our mind often. At least three times each day! The deal is, today alone, I craved food when I was hungry and later in the day, thought about eating less food because of my weight. I am even considering eating food replacements.

Of course, this seems to be a topic for a different category, not a food topic. A food replacement would be like, the Cambridge Diet. Cambridge is a powder drink. The neat thing about the Cambridge diet is that they offer a delicious chocolate pudding. I lived on this pudding diet for more than a month many years ago. I looked forward to each delicious bowl of this pudding. It helped the flavor that I added a scoop of peanut butter to the mix when blending it.

Even with this slight “cheat”, the diet proved effective. I lost weight and was a happy camper. I got to eat pudding 5 times a day. I would do this again if I could work it into my schedule. Maybe a different type of chocolate could substitute. Someday, they may discover an ingredient in See’s candy that causes weight loss. I would like to be a test subject.

Food is even a topic in the election process this year. McCain Family recipes were found to be directly ripped from the Food Channel website. The McCain campaign website took down 12-pages of recipe information once this was discovered. Seems like a silly thing in a couple ways. The McCain team felt it was important to make the candidate’s family seem “folksy” by showing family recipes. How difficult is it to find real family favorites anyway? Every family should have some, even if they are just a twist on traditional recipes.

So, the topic of food has many nuances and will be discussed here, often and at length. Feel free to sit and enjoy your favorite food treat while reading our blogs. If YOU are on the Cambridge diet, how is the chocolate pudding? Your comments are welcome.
